The New World Of Virtual Health Appointments! How they can work for you...

Thank you for taking the time to read this important newsletter. The COVID-19 situation around the world has created a lot of fear, uncertainty and changes for many people. 

I wanted to take this opportunity to firstly say that as my valued clients I am thinking of you all and hoping you are in good health. Secondly, I want you to know that if there is anything you need please get in touch. This time, more than ever it is important to stop, de-stress and prioritise our health

As I’ll discuss, I have been thinking outside the box to find ways that you can still be looked after even as we navigate through this rapidly changing environment. Thirdly I also wanted to leave you with some insights and strategies to assist you through this time.

I’m acutely aware that it’s times like this that my clients need my support more than ever. Help to manage areas of pain, stress, immune function and the impacts of uncertainty right now. It’s because of this,  I am more determined than ever to continue to support you in whatever way I can.

The Australian Government has continued to confirm Chiropractic and Allied Healthcare as an essential service and wants people to continue to maintain their health care appointments as best they can in the current circumstances, even with the social distancing measures in place. We know COVID -19 seems to have much less impact on those who are in good health.

Due to the interstate travel restrictions at this point in time I will be unable to make my next scheduled trip to Sydney in April. At this stage I will endeavour to come up at the end of May as planned. I will be contacting anyone with a Sydney appointment for April individually.

What should you do to maintain your course of care and health during this time?

Virtual Health Appointments


You may have heard that many practitioners and companies around the world are embracing video technology to assist them to continue to provide services to their clients. I have been working hard lately to ensure this is also a viable option for many of you at this time.

How can I benefit from a Virtual Appointment?


Although we can’t adjust your spine virtually, I can do nearly everything else. 

  • Physically; advice to assist with pain or symptoms and rehabilitation strategies. 

  • Physiologically; I can continue to manage areas of your health nutritionally, providing key advice and supplement or diet prescription to manage low energy, digestive dysfunction, hormonal issues and importantly immune function.

  • Psychologically; As a NLP Master Coach and using some effective stress management strategies -see below.

I regularly get NET at my sessions for stress management - is this available via Virtual Health?

Yes! Although in order to do traditional NET I need to see you in the room, I have adapted many of the principles of NET, Neuro - Linguistic Programming (NLP) and surrogate muscle testing and developed a method called ‘Neuro - Emotional Ancillary Technique” or NEAT. 

We can use NEAT virtually to assist with stress. Many of my Sydney clients have already experienced this process with great results but for those that haven’t let me explain some key points.

  1. As a master coach of Neuro - Linguistic Programming (NLP) I use this to firstly analyse your language, tone and facial expressions. Describing a particular stressor will provide many verbal and non-verbal cues which can be correlated to the various emotions that we use within NET - fear, grief, anger etc. 

  2. There are actually two ways that we can clear emotional responses using NET. One is the spinal tapping method which I almost always use in the clinic. The second is called the pulse point method using meridian access points located on the wrist. Any non-body worker (eg psychologist) the uses NET uses these points. We use these points when using NEAT on a virtual consultation.

How do I know Virtual Health is for me?

Stress management techniques can actually be more beneficial for some people when carried out in the comfort of their own home. It is a different experience to being in the room. I want you to be completely comfortable and feel it will work for you. 

For this reason I am going to offer all my current clients a FREE 20 min session!

If you enjoy the process as you do our regular NET sessions then we can continue for your normal appointment time. 

Fees for Virtual Health.

As I have less operating costs I can bring you Virtual Health at 20% off the cost of your regular visit.

What if I need a structural / physical appointment?

I continue to operate in Hobart at this point.

If you are in Sydney you can book in to see Dr Rick Schlederer who owns the practice I work from in the CBD. He also has offices in Double Bay. He regularly locums for many of my existing clients and uses many of the same techniques.

I understand as many people are working from home at this point you may wish to see someone close to home. Please get in touch if this is the case and I can find someone to recommend.

How do I book a Virtual Health Appointment?

You can book a Virtual Health Appointment in the same ways you would book a regular appointment. This can be done online via our website (SYDNEY CLINIC SECTION) or by calling reception. Virtual Health appointments are available to all my patients.

I am going to be available for Virtual Health Consults;

Monday: 11am - 2pm

Wednesday: 4pm - 6:30pm

Friday 8am - 11am

If you need an alternative time please email me direct at admin@mindfitbody.com.au 

Once you have a booking you will receive a link on your booking confirmation which at the time of your appointment select and it will link us up via confidential video. All you need is a smartphone, tablet or laptop etc that has a camera and microphone.

Again we can use Virtual Health Appointments to; 

  • Assist with pain, poor posture, and rehabilitation programs.

  • Continue to assist your physiology through nutrient therapy and dietary advice. We can deliver strategies for low energy, stress, immune, hormonal and digestive issues.

  • Assist with stress. These times can create stress relating to our health , finances and relationships and being more socially isolated / environmentally confined.
